Neus offers a unique approach as a dance dramaturg that knows the craft from the inside. She's been a professional dancer for over ten years with some of the best companies in the world, being now a guest teacher for professional dancers and a choreographer herself.
She understands the needs in the rehearsal studio, the importance of giving room and time for the individual input, and the group dynamics. She is familiar with a broad range of styles and wary of superficial fashionable trends. Neus understands the arch of the piece, and can take care of the work's overall pace, intention and structure from an audience's perspective. She also offers new pathways and possibilities, and can broaden the research process, drawing from her theatre, literary and visual arts background.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Neus collaborates regularly as a dramaturg with choreographers Johnny Autin: A Positive Life, Dystopia, Queer Words, Out of the Deep Blue; Richard Chappell: At The End We Begin, Still Touch, Silence Between the Waves, Infinite Ways Home; Feet off the Ground: The Way They Were Then, Éter; Choreographer Jan Lee and digital artist Tim Murray-Browne: Movement Alphabet.

Neus started doing dramaturgy in 2011, assisting Eran Gisin for his solo “Emotions, job, emotions, once a day” which won the second prize for choreography at the Solo Dance-Theatre festival in Stuttgart in 2012.
Since then Neus has been exploring deeper different art forms such as theatre, cinema and visual arts, the last mainly through her BA in Art History, in which she specialized in contemporary visual art and philosophy of Art.
She developed her dramaturgical skills further through several workshops with renown dramaturges such as Lou Cope, as well as being selected for a number of choreography workshops and residencies in collaborative practices such as Dance OMI 2015. Neus was invited to come back to OMI as a mentor to other choreographers in 2017.
In the Spring 2017 Neus was mentored as a dramaturg by Lou Cope through COLLABORATE, a professional development program supported by South East Dance and Jerwood Charitable Foundation Dramaturg in Residence 2016/17.
She was also selected by LMPT in Spain to receive coaching from Eva Redondo throughout the year 2017 to research the integration of dance, theatre and circus into a cohesive performance. This program allowed Neus to explore further into the possibilities of multidisciplinary practices and the findings will be taken forward to create a full evening piece in 2018.

Neus works with choreographers in different ways, sometimes the focus is on them being able to explore their expressive needs, such as with body percussion dance artist Anna Llombart in 2014. Other times the focus is more on the piece itself and its readability.

Neus is currently mentoring upcoming dramaturg Rachel Elderkin through a DYCP from Arts Council England.
